Finishing touches

Construction work on the extension has continued in earnest over the past three weeks, with only a very short pause for Christmas. All external work on the building is finished, and in the picture below the full visual impact of the observatory dome can be seen now that the roof and the first floor cladding have been completed.

From a different angle it is also possible to see the ground floor glazing to the outside of the new ICT and Media suite (IT14G). As with most of the rest of the extension, this room has, in the past week, been fully plastered, painted and carpeted.

With one week to go, the key tasks remaining are the fitting of fixed furniture and, crucially, the installation of the telescope. Check back in the next few days for further updates as this process is completed.
