Long Eaton Astronomical Society – Ancient Solar Observatories: Thursday 5th July

This week we are pleased to welcome Dr Daniel Brown from Nottingham Trent University who will be giving a talk on ‘ancient solar observatories’.

The meeting will begin at 5pm in the observatory building, follow the signs from main reception. After the talk there will be an opportunity to observe the Sun with the solar telescope if the weather is clear.

The meeting is open to members of the public, if you are not currently a member of the society please email the observatory to book your places. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

(Remember: it is dangerous to observe the sun with any telescope other than those with a specialist solar filter, this can lead to permanent eye damage or blindness).
