TLES Family Astronomy Club 2012/13

The first meeting of The Long Eaton School Family Astronomy Club took place recently – Monday 21st October. A good turnout of students and parents were unfortunately unable to do any observing due to the cloudy skies, but did enjoy a discussion about meteors, meteorites and asteroids as well as a chance to tour the observatory.

The next meeting is scheduled for the 5th December and will hopefully have better weather as well as contributions from our GCSE Astronomy students.

Students interested in attending should collect a letter from Mr Patrick or Student Services.

  1. Hello can you tell me, are children who don’t attend the school still able to come to any of the sessions? Thanks

As a local resident I have attended many of the evening lectures that Hayley organised. Do you have a program of forthcoming events please?

    Regards, Stuart Allan

Hello, TLES Family Astronomy Club is for children who attend the school and their families. The Astronomical Society meetings are open to all and although the talks are aimed at adults, all children are more than welcome to come along with an accompanying adult. We will also be holding open sessions to time with BBC Stargazing Live early in 2014, details will be on the blog nearer the time.
I hope that helps – Rachel
