Long Eaton Astronomical Society Meeting January 29th 2015

Our next meeting is on Thursday 29th January at 6:30pm. The speaker for the night will be Mr M. Perkins of the school with a talk entitled “A Beginners Guide to Astro-Photography”. We shall look at the basics of what it is and how to get started. We shall have a look at some simple projects to try with your own cameras and also move into a little Planetary imaging using a webcam as requested by a couple of our members towards the end of last year. We shall round off with a brief look at CCD cameras. After the talk there will be chance if clear to do a spot of comet hunting, if not there will be a brief what’s up / news report.

A reminder that memberships are now due. The cost for 2015 is a very reasonable £15 for the year, forms available in person at meetings or can be emailed if you let us know you would like a copy. Non-members are of course still welcome for the usual suggested donation of £2 towards costs for running the society.
