Forthcoming events 25th & 26th May

The next meeting for the Family Astronomy Club is on Wednesday 25th May at the usual time of 6pm. This month we shall be looking at our closest star the Sun. If the weather permits we shall have chance to observe the Sun with our solar telescope before learning more about it and how to safely observe it. The family astronomy club is open to all students, staff and their families. For more information please see Miss Ellender or Miss Harrington.

Thursday 26th May is the Long Eaton Astronomical Society meeting. This month we welcome Simon Goodwin of Sheffield University. Simon is an astrobiologist and will be discussing the search for life beyond Earth. If the weather allows there will be chance for solar observing before the talk. Refreshments will be available from 6:30 with a start time of 7pm. Members free and as always a suggested donation of £2 for non-members.
